You’re invited to join the Syilx Okanagan Nation for their annual Salmon Feast! This three-day event is happening on September 16, 17, and 18, 2022 in Okanagan Falls, which is a culturally significant site for the Okanagan Nation, and a traditional fishing site, gathering place, and trading site.
The Salmon Feast includes many fantastic activities, including ceremonies, a canoe paddle, a stick game tournament, vendors, children’s activities, and a salmon feast and ceremony to honour the sacredness of the river.
One of the goals of the Syilx Okanagan Nation is to carry on the work of the people’s ancestors and Elders, who taught the importance of preserving and revitalizing the traditions, customs, and language of the Syilx people. By attending this very special gathering, you’ll be supporting this important work. See you there!
