Steve Hawley is a writer and film-maker from Hood River, Oregon. His latest book, Cracked: the Future of Dams in a Hot, Chaotic World, from Patagonia Books, debuts on the same day as this festival appearance – Tuesday May 2, 2023. Steve wrote and co-produced Dammed to Extinction, a documentary film that depicts the plight of salmon-eating killer whales in the eastern Pacific. When not at his desk, he’s usually scheming to do something fun outside.
