Fred Fortier

I am a descendent the Secwepemc / Nlakapamux Nations  and from the Simpcw First Nation. I reside in Chu Chua with my wife Mary, and have four grown children and six grand children. I am the co-owner of 4TR Ventures Ltd , Uncle Freddy’s Hothouse & Nursery; winner of the 2016 Outstanding Business Achievement from the BC Aboriginal Business Awards; served as advisor to the BC Minister of Agriculture; manage Uncle Freddy’s Hothouse and Nursery and a market garden that sell produce to the local market; and collect traditional medicine plants to make salves and other remedies for elders and the people of the community. My hobbies include hunting, fishing , gardening,  learning about plants and their benefits to medicine and culture.  I am a member of the Bringing the Salmon Home Indigenous Knowledge Counsel.
