Elsie L. David is Nchi Wanathlama and resides in Goldendale, Washington. Her parents are the late Bronsco Sr. and late Ella (Billy) Jim. Elsie is grateful to have learned since childhood through home, longhouse, land, and waterways. She learned to preserve fish from her mother and sister Joni, and was nominated to cook over the fire as a teenager. She encourages all ages to keep learning their songs, language, foods, and territories. Our ancestors set our path and it’s up to us to sustain it for future generations.
